Guillermo Santaella was the breeder of this prepotent stallion who was born at Criadero La Puerta in Miranda, Venezuela. In 1984 Santaella sold half of Rescate to Fabio Ochoa.  In 1989, Ochoa bought Santaella's half of Rescate.  Ochoa  sold Rescate in 1990 to Criadero La Luisa, and approximately three years later he was sold to Criadero La Rochela. Rescate showed in various competitions between 1983 and 1985.  He was Champion at four shows in Medellin, Colombia in 1983, and in Bogota won champion twice between 1983-1985.  In Popayan in 1984 he was also named Champion.  Unfortunately Rescate lacked one Championship  from being declared Fuero de Concurso. It can be said, however he achieved his Fuero de Concurso in the breeding shed as Rescate has become to be known as one of the most influential and successful  stallions in the breed.  Some of his many famous and successful offspring which span three generations of his blood are:  El Triunfo, Centauro, La Pasión, Terremoto de Manizales, Araminta, La Soraya, Piropo, Fragancia, Amapola, Galán de la Puerta, Finura, Serenata II, Infinito, Privilegio de la Vitrina, and Cortesía de la Vitrina (mother of  Cortes de la Vitrina and Cortesano de la Vitrina), Vitral ,  and La Lechona del V-8.
